The School-Age Program at The Joshua School offers quarterly home visits to each student and his or her family prior to each quarterly conference. Though not a substitute for a home program, home visits provide an opportunity to discuss behaviors occurring in the student’s home, develop goals to address these behaviors, and learn strategies to teach new and desirable behaviors. These goals are then included in the Day Treatment Plan. Materials are created by TJS or co–created with the parent to assist with implementing the goals at home. Home visits are scheduled at various times during the day to accommodate the parent’s schedule.
